The ASSURE Program delivers ongoing testing of Diamond Verification Instruments. With this initiative, Natural Diamond Council brings to the industry third-party information so that the trade is aware and can take informed decisions before deciding on a purchasing verification instrument.
In its first phase, the ASSURE Program partnered with seven manufacturers representing widely available Natural Diamond Verification instruments in the market. The instruments were rigorously tested in a transparent manner by an independent third-party, against a unique common sample and in accordance with the Diamond Verification Instruments standard and results for 11 instruments were published and made available online in the ASSURE section on www.diamondproducers.com. The first round of tests were performed by UL in their laboratory in Canton, Massachusetts, in the United States.
In its second phase, three more partners came on board the program, namely – Gemometrics, Massive Tech Lab, SATTGEMS (SSEF). Accordingly 4 instruments got added to the ASSURE testing process – GemPen, G-Certain, J Certain and ASDI. These instruments too have gone through the same stringent testing process and the results are available online for retailers and manufacturers to access.
The program aims to ensure that the natural diamond and jewellery trade have access to objective and third-party verified information about the relative performance of Diamond Verification Instruments.
